teen driving education

 Texas teens under 18 must complete a state-approved driver education program, including classroom instruction and supervised driving practice, before qualifying for a learner license and eventually a provisional driver's license.

Adult driving education

Individuals ages 18–24 must complete a state-approved 6-hour Adult Driver Education course before obtaining a Texas driver license. A certificate of completion (ADE-964) is required when applying for a license.

 The Texas Defensive Driving Course is a state-approved program designed to help drivers improve their driving skills, increase roadway safety, and refresh their knowledge of Texas traffic laws.
